Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines, via natural search results for targeted keywords. There are two factors that influence search engine optimization: factors on your page and factors outside your page. You will get a better ranking, especially for not so competitive keywords, if you improve your page by adding heading tags, title tags and meta tags.
The leading search engines, Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft, use crawlers to find pages for their algorithmic search results. Because crawlers download every page of your site, another search engine optimization that you can make is to decrease the size of your site. The smaller the size of your site, the faster you will be crawled.
The other outside factor of your page search engine optimization is links from other sites. The anchor text in those links determine for what keywords you will rank better. The more quality links you have the better your will rank.
